（選択しない）と（対象無選択定型文）の違いをテストしてみたら、（選択しない）で定型文を選択しようとすると「対象が選択されていません」等と言う警告文が出てアクションできないことが判明。

BBS形式の２０発言改行４回限定と厳しくした方がより面白かったんじゃないかと思う今日このごろ。
通常、BBS形式だと略語をふんだんに使い、限られた発言数で工夫して議論するのが醍醐味なんですが、talkative設定ですと英語の略語を使わなくても普通に翻訳した文章をそのまま使っても議論に何ら支障が無いので、英語でうまく議論できずに四苦八苦する姿を見て楽しむことが出来ないですね。

多分、ほとんどの人は独自の英語力ではなく、翻訳サイト使っているんでしょうが、真面目な英文の議論ばかりで、野次馬としては突っ込み処が少なく寂しいところですね。
鳩からで翻訳サイトが使えない時が、この村での真価が問われるところ。
私が本参加してたら、参加中は鳩使用禁止にしてるところですが。（理由：面倒くさいから）

翻訳サイト使わなくても大体の意味は単語拾っていけば分かるので、読む時はあまり使っていません。
打つ時も、翻訳サイトより手持ちの例文集をアレンジすることの方が多いですね。

あまり難しい単語や文法を使っても、自分だけ意味が分かって他の人には通じないことがあるので、中途半端に英語が上手く話せると逆に意思疎通ができない可能性があります。

真に英語が上手な人は、難しい単語は中高生でも分かるような単語や表現に置き換えて話すもの。
最初のうちは分からない単語で話されても調べたりしますが、日数が経って議論が煮詰まったり疲れが出てくると段々意味を調べず前後の文章から意味を予測したり、もっと進行すると知らない単語は読み飛ばされたりするので、そこで誤解が生じたりするので注意が必要。
今もLizaが全然来ないことで混乱してますが、日数が進めばもっと英語村ならではの混乱を楽しめるはず。

小学校の時国語の教科書に載っていた「なきがら」
ってタイトルの詩は、上手く訳したな、と私は思いました。
直訳すれば「死体」になるんですが、それだと詩の雰囲気が全く違ったものになるので、翻訳家の仕事をしてる人って、数多い日本語の表現を的確に選んですごいんだな、と思いました。

読めないこともないですが、かなり無理矢理な翻訳ですよね。
登場人物の「Shimamura（島村）」が「シンアムーラ」と訳されたり、作者のヤーサンアリ・クーワバッタからして、アラビアかどこかの国の物語？と思ってしまうほど滑稽な日本語訳でした。
そんな期待もこの村には込めているのですが、日本語での解釈は各自の独り言を見るしかないですからね。誤解同士のすれ違いが果たしてあるのかが、この村最大の見せ場です。
